Visual and Performing Arts
At Paramount Unified School District, we believe the arts play a vital role in every child’s education. All K–5 students receive quality instruction in visual and performing arts, helping them explore creativity, build confidence, and develop important life skills.
Credentialed art and music teachers provide formal instruction twice a month, and we proudly partner with community organizations to offer additional opportunities in music and dance.
Music
Music education supports academic growth, teamwork, and self-confidence. Through our partnership with Harmony Project—recognized as a “Bright Spot in Hispanic Education” by the White House and U.S. Department of Education—students receive high-quality, research-based music instruction.
Each student in the program is provided:
- A musical instrument
- Weekly lessons
- Opportunities to perform
- Family support services
These experiences strengthen focus, creativity, and critical thinking—building a foundation for future success in school and in the arts.
Dance
Our partnership with AMAN Dance Educators, former members of the world-renowned AMAN Folk Ensemble, brings global dance experiences to our schools.
Through engaging lessons, students:
- Learn dances from cultures around the world
- Explore rhythm, movement, and creative expression
- Develop coordination, teamwork, and cultural awareness
- The curriculum features dances from Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America, helping students connect with the world through movement and music.
