Parent & Family Engagement (ref Title I)

At Keppel Elementary, we know that strong partnerships with families are essential for student success. As a Title I school, we are committed to providing meaningful opportunities for parents and guardians to be involved in their child’s education. 

Our Philosophy 

  • Parent engagement is at the heart of our school community. We believe that families: 
  • Are partners in setting high expectations for student learning 
  • Play a vital role in supporting learning at home and school 
  • Deserve regular opportunities to share feedback and help guide school decisions 

Parent Engagement Opportunities 

  • Throughout the year, families are invited to participate in: 
  • Back-to-School Night & Open House 
  • Parent Education Workshops on academics, social-emotional supports, and technology 
  • Café y Comunidad gatherings for families to connect 
  • Cultural and Family Events celebrating diversity and school pride 
  • School Site Council (SSC) and English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) meetings 
  • Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) activities and events 

Parent Committees 

  • School Site Council (SSC): Reviews student achievement and helps plan school goals and spending 
  • ELAC: Advises on programs for English Learners 
  • PTA: Organizes community-building and fundraising events
