Student Leadership & Recognition

At Keppel Elementary, we believe every child has the potential to lead. We provide students with meaningful opportunities to share their ideas, take responsibility, and contribute to our school community.

Opportunities to Lead

  • Student Council – elected representatives help plan events, promote school spirit, and model positive citizenship.
  • Classroom Leadership Roles – students take on responsibilities such as helpers, peer mentors, or team leaders.
  • Clubs & Activities – leadership grows through music, dance, STEM, art, and cultural activities where students practice teamwork and decision-making.
  • PBIS & Schoolwide Expectations – students model respectful, safe, and responsible behavior for peers.

Benefits of Leadership

  • Encourages teamwork and collaboration
  • Develops a sense of responsibility and ownership of the school environment
  • Provides opportunities for student voice in shaping school events and culture
  • Strengthens readiness for middle school, high school, and beyond

Recognizing Student Leaders

  • Keppel proudly celebrates students who show leadership and initiative:
  • Student of the Month and Recognition Assemblies spotlight growth, effort, and achievement.
